LAYETTE ITEMS FOR NEWBORNS

We deliver layettes and hygiene kits to new mothers at the local hospitals. The mothers must provide the diapers and clothing that the newborn wears while in the hospital. Since the mothers are very poor, we often find these precious babies wearing only a rag for a combination diaper and blanket. The layette that we bring often becomes the only clothing the baby will have.

We have an ongoing need for new cloth diapers. If possible, we prefer the "flat" diapers (rather than the pre-folded) since they are more adaptable to fitting all size babies and toddlers & dry more quickly after washing. We welcome both the diapers and/or funding to purchase diapers (about $13 per dozen).

Other good used summer-weight items needed for layettes:

Light-weight receiving blankets (purchased or sewn)

Light-weight sleepers

Summer boy and girl clothing (birth to 2 years)

Infant rattles/teethers

Cotton caps

Infant socks/booties

Please send only summer clothing that is in good repair and unstained.

These are delivered to new mothers, hospitalized children, and our school children.

Hotel-size shampoos, conditioners, and soaps are fantastic for this purpose.

So if someone you know travels, please ask them to save them for us.

SPECIAL NEEDS

TRACTS

As we work on various projects, we give out Spanish language religious tracts telling about salvation. We have an ongoing need for tracts (low reading level) on the topic of salvation by grace through faith. If you would like to make a donation of either tracts or funding for this purpose, please contact us.
